Through the vast area of the karst Lika Field, the route leads from Lovinac towards Gračac. It passes through the places of Ličko Cerje, Ričice and Štikada with accumulation lakes, reaching Gračac. The Cerovac Caves, the largest cave complex in Croatia, are located 4 km from Gračac. Taking a constant slight climb, the route leads from Gračac towards Zadar on D27 road. It is possible to turn off the road towards the Krupa Monastery, dating from the 15th century and located near the source of the eponymous river. From the Lokvine rest point and down the road, there is a spectacular view of the Zrmanja River Canyon, and passing through the village of Muškovci, the river picnic place can be reached, where you can find refreshment under the waterfalls or in the turquoise green water. Then the road reaches Zaton Obrovački, where you can get off D27 (3 km) towards the picturesque town of Obrovac on the River Zrmanja. The EuroVelo 8 route continues by turning off D27 onto D54 road towards Zadar. After some 10 kilometres, the road passes through Jasenice and then Maslenica too, leading downhill towards the impressive Maslenica Bridge. At the vantage points located at both sides of the bridge, the view of the narrow strait called Novsko ždrilo and deep retracted bays - Novigrad and Karin Sea can be enjoyed. Getting off the route for 16.5 kilometres, you can visit the National Park Paklenica with its impressive Big and Small Canyon and attractive underground tunnels. Accommodation on this section can be found in hostels and in private rooms and apartments.
