The route leads from the centre of Zadar to the Passenger Port Gaženica. That section passes across the islands of the Zadar archipelago, Ugljan and Pašman, providing authentic Mediterranean island feeling. It takes only 25 minutes to cross the Zadar Channel by the frequent ferry line and to sail into the Port Preko on the island of Ugljan. The place is characterised by the typical Dalmatian architecture and numerous country houses of noble families, as well as by the remains of St. Michael’s Fortress from the 13th century, built on a hill. An idyllic local road by the sea is ridden on towards the small, picturesque village of Kali, known for its long fishing tradition. Then the route connects to the main island road D110, which leads to Ždrelac Bridge (210 m), bridging Malo Ždrilo and connecting the islands of Ugljan and Pašman. Having crossed the bridge, the road passes through Ždrelac, and very soon through Banj on D110. Left turn is taken from D110 in Dobropoljana and the local road is ridden towards Neviđane and Mrljane, through fields and meadows, past dry stone walls, sometimes very close to the sea along beautiful sandy beaches. Then the place Barotul is reached, where the local road takes you to the town of Pašman with coastal panorama adorned by a set of uninhabited islets in the Pašman Channel. The main island road D110 leads to the place called Kraj, and then the local road passes through Ugrinić and reaches Tkon. By taking a ferry line, the mainland in Biograd na Moru can be reached again in just 20 minutes. Once the crown city of Croatian kings, nowadays Biograd na Moru is a famous tourist and nautical centre with hotels, campsites and marinas. During your stay in Biograd, it is definitely worth visiting the Kornati National Park, a stone labyrinth made of 89 islands, islets and reefs and the Telašćica Nature Park on Dugi Otok, a place where the steepest 161-metre high cliffs plunge into the blue sea. After Biograd, the route continues for another 7 km along local roads to Pakoštane, a picturesque Dalmatian village located on the coast near Vrana Lake, the largest lake in Croatia. Both Biograd na Moru and Pakoštane offer numerous accommodation options.
